Home Sweet Hood is an annual event hosted by Cohere, a creative agency that specializes in adaptive reuse real estate projects and placemaking. We created the event to grant access to the unique projects under construction and hear behind the scenes stories from the change makers who are transforming exciting spaces in Philadelphia.
As part of the 2019 DesignPhiladelphia Festival, guests can enjoy a hard hat tour of the Harbisons Dairy building in Kensington to get a rare tour of the project in its early construction phase and see the well-known milk bottle restoration underway with space activation courtesy of Rohe Creative. To finish off the evening join us at Martha for an exclusive menu sampling and hear the behind the scenes story about Martha's successful adaptive reuse.
Itinerary
6 - 7:30 pm : Harbisons Dairy hard hat tour through the raw space, hear from design professionals at Cohere and Rohe Creative on their process and approach to activating an iconic building in Kensington and Philadelphia. Southwood Developers will lead attendees on a walkthrough of the active construction site. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to see this massive project before it’s completely transformed!
7:30 - 9 pm : Enjoy a relaxing buffet style dinner and drinks at Martha in Kensington while hearing from co-owners Mike Parsell and Jon Medlinsky about the unique challenges of designing and building out their space. They will touch on their inspiration from the architecture, history and culture of the surrounding neighborhood that they are committed to and fully invested in.
